Marché barkeep Nate Hisamura will be hosting an evening of tasting and insight into the history and mystique of absinthe. Though only available legally in the U.S. for a decade, absinthe is steeped in history. Originally popularized in Switzerland and France in the 1800s, absinthe is a spirit — not a liqueur — with a high alcohol percentage. It is traditionally made with white grape-based spirit, wormwood, anise, fennel, and other herbs. Come taste the difference in styles–plus the inside track on how great bartenders around the globe are working with this bohemian legend. Includes tasting, merriment and light snacks.
