Rhone Valley Wine & Cheese Class

The Rhône River is dotted with vineyards from its headwaters in Switzerland to its mouth on the French Mediterranean coast. Most can say they’ve had and loved a Rhône wine; from rich, meaty syrah to earthy, chewy grenache. The valley itself is considered collectively, but the Northern and Southern halves are climatically and viticulturally distinct. With this class will explore and explain the Southern portion - home of appellations like Côtes-du-Rhône, Luberon, Ventoux, and the venerable Chateâuneuf-du-Pape. To accompany these wines we will offer a selection of classic French cheeses and discuss pairing techniques and how to seek out wine and cheese partnerships on your next shopping trip. Join us!
