Provisions Wine Class: The Ides of March, Modern Wine & Cuisine of Rome

$50/person

The Ides of March has an ominous reputation— think Julius Ceasar meeting his dramatic end (Et tu, Brute?)–but March is also traditionally a time for new beginnings and renewal. In ancient Rome, the month of March was the first of the year, falling  on a full moon; a time of celebration, the end of winter and a new planting season. The Roman Empire may be history, but the city of Rome is alive and well, offering a rich tradition of food and wine. Join us as we explore Latium wines with sommelier Amanda Littmann and the flavors of Rome with Chef Rocky Maselli in this fun, informative class. Cin cin!

First Friday Artwalk at 5th Street Public Market

Join us at the Market for Lane Arts Council's First Friday Art Walk Tour!

February 1st | 5:30-7pm | Free

The Market will be featuring local artist, Calli Beck.

Calli recently finished a crowdfunded collection of works made with the help of her favorite robots: CNC driven lasers. The project, A Matter of Perspective: Series I is a collection of abstract representations of mountains incorporating rust, wood, and light. Each mountain is presented from a specific GPS coordinate that holds special value to those who've seen each mountain from that point of view.
Everyone loves mountains. OR. Everyone loves the sea. These massive forces of nature that we can't control. Completely fascinated by the shapes and structures that nature creates- seemingly on accident- so much so that we always are looking for meaning within it. Learn more at http://callibeck.ninja/art
